Here is Old Abe, whom the Southerners swore
They'd murder if ever he touched Baltimore;
'Twas a year ago, though, since they hatched up this plot
And since then they've been touched in a very sore spot;
In New York he imprisoned their F. F. V. traitors,
And fed them on bread, water, fish and potatoes,
And although so reviled at, 'twas his willing hand
That brought Baltimore back to a real merry land.
