"THE HEROD OF THE 19TH CENTURY." |

|
 The Funniest of Phun |
|
 April 01, 1864 |
|
|
In this number of the Funniest will be
found a high old cut of the modern Herod
“taken from life, by our special artist.”
The most estimable gentleman in the fore-
ground, Mr. Abraham Lincoln Esq. D. F.
&c. &c. with the taste which ever distinguish-
es him, is enchanted by the beauties of the
fair and blooming hag, slavery, and in those
mellifluous tones which no female could re-
sist, declares his passion for “the dear charm-
er.”
